CoTF Pages- Action/Reaction

Part of Advanced Drawing this quarter is Graphic Novels, so I took it as an opportunity to work on a short story I wrote. I had intended to get it at least penciled, and have it all up by halloween, as the story is a macabre/horror story (or at least its intended to be) but obviously that didn't happen. Still up for debate with myself whether I should start posting it as soon as I finish it, or save it till next October.

Our second assignment for this project was Action/Reaction shots. An Action/Reaction portrays exactly what it says: One scene with both an action of one element and its immediate reaction by another. This is commonly seen in fight scenes (character one punches, character two recoils) but can be used in any number of situations. It helps to save time and space on a page.

As with the previous page, this one has no dialogue and is being posted more as a piece of artwork than an actual part of the sequential pages. That will change when i finish the whole piece. This page takes place very late into the story, just before the climax. Aside from his current injuries, Cerus does live. Maybe not happily, but he'll live.

The wolf is not so fortunate.

I realize that at this close of a range, even a low powered firearm would put the bullet right through the back of the skull. I claim artistic license because it would have thrown the flow off

Also, because I enjoy cruel irony, the plant in the first panel that can be seen throughout the page is a species of mint, which, in symbolism, represents good fortune and safe travels. Too bad it didn't work out for the boys that way.
